Tabretts Fine Art is pleased to announce the culmination of a three-year project: the publication of the first major book on the life and work of David Inshaw. It is printed on 170gsm regency satin paper and contains 240 pages, 285mm x 230mm.
The text has been written by ANDREW LAMBIRTH, a writer and curator specializing in 20th and 21st century British art, currently the art critic of The Spectator. Andrew has written for a wide variety of publications, including The Sunday Times and The Independent, and from 1990 to 2002 he was Contributing Editor of RA, the Royal Academy of Arts magazine. He is the author of numerous art books. (expand).
David Inshaw: Between Fantasy and Reality is generously illustrated, drawing on the entire spectrum of the artist’s output. It has been published as a special limited edition of just 250 signed and numbered copies.
Apple Tree and Moon. Signed, limited edition print included with each copy of the book.
Each book is case-bound in cloth and presented in a slip case, which also contains a fine art print, ‘Apple Tree and Moon’, based on David Inshaw’s 1998 painting of the same name. Only 250 copies of this print will be produced, and each book and print will be signed and numbered by David. The books will also be signed by Andrew Lambirth.
From the outset, David Inshaw has been deeply engaged with the whole project, making available his comprehensive collection of images and personal documents. He has spent many hours with Andrew talking over his career, and as a result the text is not only informative, but also highly entertaining, as well as giving an intimate insight into David’s life and inspiration.
The book includes 128 colour reproductions of paintings and etchings, 17 reproductions of drawings and 29 Photographs
